Hello, are you having a happy day today?

These days, I find happiness in my daily routine of reading, writing, walking, and running. In truth, I haven't been feeling this happiness for very long.

Looking back, until I turned forty, I was driven by the belief that "I must live diligently, giving my best effort" and focused solely on moving forward. However, that journey wasn't always smooth, and I often found myself caught in an emotional whirlwind of alternating happiness and unhappiness. Why was that?

At that time, I was so fixated on moments of achievement that I didn't ask myself deeper questions. As a result, my life until forty was a journey where happiness and unhappiness constantly intersected.

Then one day, I began to find answers in books. I asked myself three questions:

First, what do I want to do? Second, what can I do? Third, what must I do?

Looking back, I realized I had been focusing entirely on the third question, not the first or second. But when I slightly changed my life's direction and began to "immerse myself in what I want to do and what I can do," happiness returned to me.

"Parents should help children find their own dreams, support them, sponsor them, encourage them, and push them from behind so they can focus even more. That is the role of parents." - I Read, Write, and Discard: The Words of Son Woong-jung -

Reading this passage, I thought: The world-class soccer star Son Heung-min was able to achieve his current success because he immersed himself in "what he wanted to do" from a young age.

"Do what you love, and benefit the world." - Curious: It All Started with a Terrible Question (by Richard Dawkins and 25 others) -

I was impressed that the 25 scholars in the book had also lived their lives immersed in what they wanted to do and what would benefit others.

A Small Change for Happiness

Recently, I shared this realization with my elementary school son. When I said I was going to write this in my blog, he drew a picture for me. The picture contained the messages "What I Want to Do" and "Happiness."

"Writing That Attracts Wealth Will Dramatically Change Your Life (by Bua-C)" It seems my son got the idea for his drawing while sitting beside me as I read this book.

And so, by reading, writing, walking, and running, now at forty, I'm living a life immersed in what I want to do and what I can do.

What about you? Do you have something you want to do but have been putting off? Or are you already living immersed in what you love?

It's not too late to start now. Find new happiness by asking yourself small questions, like I did.

I want to share this journey of reading, writing, walking, and running with you. Please share your thoughts and stories!

Happy self-development today. Reading, writing, walking, running.
